first mission - video
[The view from New Bark Town is... the usual view. But then, the camera turns to face Ramza, his face as linefacey as when he left. However, he now wears armour, and his hair has been cut short. Ever-so-slightly trembling, he steadies himself. There's no time to worry about home. Even though that's what he's doing. He closes his eyes, takes a sharp breath, and opens them again. Yes.]
It's been quite some time. But, I've returned. My name is Ramza Lugria, of the land of Ivalice. I've retained my memories of my last visit - even if times have... changed back home.

...No. This isn't the time to ponder things like that. He's got more pressing concerns on his mind - as he presses to the single Pokeball on his belt, he lets out the slightest groan.]
...I've a question. When we vanish, we return home. That much is known - many have proven it. Sometimes, our Pokemon do not return with us. Does-- where do they go? Do they simply go to the PC, or are they...
[Gone. Dead. Many words he could use, but none come to his lips. With the slightest of awkward groans, he is about to stop the post, before saying something else.]
...'tis no progress on returning to our countries, correct?
[To return to his duty - though Ramza is almost sure of the answer, he has hope in his eyes. Perhaps he still has duty here, but he wants to find truth. Find out how Delita survived - and to make sure Lady Agrias would be fine.
After a few moments on that face, the video ends. Ramza is just going to... slump down, okay. He's not sure what to do. He doesn't even know who remains of his allies. If he were honest? He was scared, if only a little, that he may be alone again.]

So you don't know where your Pokémon are? Oh, that must be awful! I know it would drive me crazy if anything happened to Palko or Hanemaru...

I've heard tales of other people returning here, carrying memories of their old journeys. But yet others who've forgotten all.
[He's starting to ever-so-slightly bite his lip. He didn't seem to recall this land while he was there. If he had, well...]
Those are you allies? [He then asks, tilting his head.] What species may they be?

Well, I'm glad you remember this place! I hope if I come back, I'll remember it too! Not that I want to leave, but... Wait, I do want to leave, because I want to go home! But I don't want to leave my Pokémon... [ Mimi shakes her head like there's a thought she's trying to jar loose. ] Oh, I'm all mixed up!
Oh, right! How rude of me! [ Mimi presses the Pokéballs at her waist, revealing two grass Pokémon: a three-foot cactus and a hovering green blob. ] This is Palko, my Maractus, and Hanemaru, my Hoppip - I mean Skiploom! He just evolved! [ She beams. ] And I'm Mimi Tachikawa! Your name is Lugria-san, right?

Ramza suddenly looks to the ground, though, almost whispering out the next bit.]
I didn't wish to leave them. I was training them as equals, and they saw me as their friend. At least, 'tis what I hope.
[He looks back to the camera, standing up. He should get moving - there's nothing to see in New Bark Town.]
Lady Mimi, then? 'Tis my pleasure to meet all of you. [He gives a little wave to the two Grass-type Pokemon - they were Grass-type, right? They looked it, from their colours and shapes.] Yes, you may call me Lugria. Is it part of your culture to use last names?
[He just wants to know!]
I've also my new starter, but it seems... clumsy. And unlike anything I've seen before.
[Which is an obscure joke because lol in his future he meets a robot which reminds me of Golett but that's the future.]

[ And then. ] Lady Mimi! I like that! [ She giggles. ] I've been a princess before, but never a Lady!
Yeah, we usually call people by their last names unless we know them really well! Like, I call all my friends at home by their first names, but here I just use last names for people unless they want me to use their first names, like Cecil-san or Gamzee-san! I know Westerners are sometimes more comfortable with that. [ The West. So exotic! ]
What kind of Pokémon is your new starter?

Ah - in my home land - Ivalice, as I mentioned - we simply use first names. Would you rather I call you Lady Tachikawa?
[Pressing the button, a Golett with the Libra Zodiac sign scratched onto that plate in the middle of it came out... before tripping.] Golett - Glauke the Golett. A Ghost/Ground-type... though it has quite good defensive properties, 'tis too clumsy for my liking.

My old starter was the Ground/Electric-type, Stunfisk. I've no clue to the logic of this land - they both share a type, however.
[Don't mind Ramza. He's trying to figure out why he got this starter.]

Oh, Lady Mimi is fine! [ She wants to say "or just Mimi", but she can't. Being a Lady is so exciting! ] Where's Ivalice? Is it in Europe?
[ Mimi can't help but giggle at the Golett's clumsiness. ] Aww, but it's cute! And... maybe whatever brings us here just thinks you're a ground-type person? [ Yes, that's the best explanation Mimi can come up with. Shut up. ]

Ivalice is its' own kingdom, self-contained. Do I sound European?
